In April 2017, Microsoft ended support for its server solution, Windows Exchange Server 2007. Starting immediately, there is no technical support and there are no bug and security patches any more. Companies still running Exchange 2007 will therefore be forced to migrate.
A direct migration from Exchange 2007 is only possible to Microsoft Exchange 2010 and 2013. VENDOSOFT distributes both versions as inexpensive used software.
“If the alternative of used software did not exist, companies would have to upgrade to the newest version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016”, said Björn Orth, Managing Director of VENDOSOFT GmbH. This would cost approximately €700 per license.
With Exchange 2010 and 2013, VENDOSOFT offers its customers savings of 54% and 65%, respectively. The company also carries Exchange Server 2016 in its portfolio – sold used for 43% below the original price!
Orth advises companies to switch to subsequent versions of Exchange 2007 as soon as possible in order to avoid security risks. “We have all the alternatives, with Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013 or even 2016 (used and new!).”
